Fourth Joint Statistical Meeting of the Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Statistik
"Statistics under one Umbrella"

The Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Statistik (DAGStat) was founded in 2005. Its declared purpose is to connect scientists who are working with statistical methods, to offer them an open and productive platform and to increase public awareness about statistics. Their primary scope of duties are the further development of statistical theory and methodology.

The fourth Joint Statistical Meeting will take place at the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen at the 14.03.2016 till 18.03.2016. The conference program includes various interesting speeches from a great variety of statistical topics from different fields of applications. Furthermore a conference dinner at the Hardenberg Burghotel encourages for an active exchange of experiences. Another great highlight will be the guided city-tour "Magic Moments of Mathematics" Which includes a visit to the historical observatory of the Georg-August-Universität. Plane | International visitors using the airports Hannover, Berlin and Frankfurt as their destination. Intercity connections can be used to finally reach Göttingen.

Car | Göttingen is connected to the highway A7.

Parking | Parking on the University area and in the town centre is limited and with costs. However most hotels provide enough parking space. Furthermore public transports can be used and the event is also easily reached by foot.

Georg-August-Universität Göttingen

Founded in 1737, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is a research university of international renown with strong focuses in research-led teaching. The University bears the name of its founder Georg August, King George II of Great Britain, Elector and Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, (Hannover). The University of Göttingen regards its great research tradition and subject diversity as constituting particular strengths. Almost all academic disciplines including medicine are represented in the 13 faculties, the exception being engineering sciences. The Georg-August Universität is also distinguished by being closely integrated into a network of first-class extra-university research establishments.
